The United States of America will likely be devastated by earthquakes within the next twenty years. That is the startling conclusion of the authors of this book, all of them leading experts in the geophysical effects of climate change. They make a strong case for a link between the sun's cycles of behavior with highly destructive earthquakes. The authors explain that when the sun goes into a reduced energy phase, it produces colder weather and the worst earthquakes we've ever seen. Their easy-to-understand charts and graphs clearly show that we face an imminent threat. Find out the status of the threat for California, Alaska, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and other states and regions-as well as when and where the next catastrophic quakes will most likely strike. The authors also share the latest damage and loss-of-life assessments from the federal government, and they argue that we're not doing enough to confront the threat. The United States could face up to $600 billion in damages, and tens of thousands of people could die beginning in 2017, they warn. Prepare yourself, your family, and your business for the most dangerous earthquakes you'll ever face with Upheaval!
"Upheaval!" is one of the most important books in recent years to address the imminent threat the USA is under from catastrophic earthquakes. Research from the authors, John L. Casey, Dr. Dong Choi, and Dr. Fumio Tsunoda going back to 2010, explains why the Sun is not only the primary driver of climate change, but also details that when the Sun goes into a reduced energy phase, it produces lasting cold weather and our worst ever earthquakes during th same period of years. In this text, the authors show with easy to understand charts and graphs that the most destructive earthquakes are intimately linked to cold climates when the Sun goes into a state of "solar hibernation." The book examines the status of the threat for the Cascadia Subduction Zone (CSZ), California, the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ), Alaska, South Carolina, Puerto Rico and Hawaii. The authors show time and again for each high risk quake zone how the next set of catastrophic earthquakes can be predicted by using past quake strikes, energy flows tracked within the Earth's crust, and solar activity measured by radio isotopes. The text reviews the latest damage and loss of life assessments from the federal government and shows why the government is not preparing the country for the level of threat we face, and probably should not be counted on for assistance after these massive earthquakes strike. The book shows why the USA is likely to receive multiple large earthquakes within a short period of time that may cost over $600 billion in damage and cost tens of thousands of lives, starting as soon as 2017! Most importantly, the book outlines the steps needed by individuals, businesses and the government to get our people prepared for the most dangerous natural disasters in over 200 years.
John L. Casey has served his country, the U.S. government, the space program, climate science, and geology for over forty years. He has been a national space policy adviser to the White House and Congress, a senior field engineer on the Space Shuttle program, consultant to NASA Headquarters and consultant to or head of leading-edge high-tech start-ups. He is currently CEO of the International Earthquake and Volcano Prediction Center (IEVPC) in Orlando, Florida, as well as president of his own science and engineering consulting company, Veritence Corporation. He was formerly president of the Space and Science Research Corporation, a leading climate research company. He is the author of two climate books, Cold Sun and its updated version, the bestseller, Dark Winter. Dr. Dong Choi is director of Research for the International Earthquake and Volcano Research Center (IEVPC). His office is in Canberra, Australia, where he is the managing director of Raax Australia Pty Ltd., a borehole imaging and geological analysis company. He is also editor-in-chief of New Conceptsin Global Tectonics (NCGT) Journal (www.ncgt.org). Dr. Fumio Tsunoda is professor emeritus of geology and civil engineering from the National Saitama University, Japan. He is a world-renowned seismologist/geologist. He published several very popular books on earthquakes in Japan. He is an IEVPC associate scientist. Dr. Ole Humlum is a professor of physical geography at the University of Oslo, Norway. He is a glaciologist and geomorphologist and author of several science texts and approximately 100 science papers.
