The author, Nikavah Ben-Israel, was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1980. At a young age she developed a love for writing and desired to be an educator and an author. She studied at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Multidisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education and Psychology. Nikavah also has a Master of Education degree from Howard University in Washington, DC in Curriculum and Instruction. She has worked in the education field for over 15 years serving as teacher, assessment writer, reading specialist, international English teacher and curriculum specialist. Beside writing she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends; especially her children, Josiah, Jacob and Jonathan.
