Muffin and Alexander finished their breakfast at the same time as everyone else. Abby, Benjamin, Parker and Nova Lee went into the family room. In the family room, there were four school bags. Muffin and Alexander walked up to the school bags. They walked around the school bags. They walked behind the school bags. They walked in front of the school bags. They looked inside the school bags. These were especially very interesting to Alexander who just loved big packages and bags! When the school bags fell over, Alexander jumped straight into the air. The school bags were just too interesting to Alexander. He could not help himself. Alexander climbed inside Nova Lee’s school bag. After a few minutes, he curled up and began to take his morning catnap. Muffin was not to be outdone. She tried all three remaining school bags. She just loved Abby’s school bag! It was big and comfortable and she could smell Abby’s lunch! Muffin climbed in, curled up and fell asleep. Alexander was comfortable in Nova Lee’s school bag. Muffin was comfortable in Abby’s school bag. They were so comfortable; they purred so softly. No one heard their purrs. No one knew the kittens were sleeping in school bags. Abby, Nova Lee, Parker and Benjamin picked up their school bags and went to the van. They were all so happy. It was the first day of school. They were excited to see their old friends. They were excited to meet new friends. They were ready to learn so much this school year.
