In my clinical observations, many times the physicians and nurses were extremely busy and parents were not capable of explaining a medical procedure to their child. In speaking with many critically ill and medically fragile children they wanted to know why they were in the hospital, how can they be cured and will this hurt? In my line of books, I am addressing important issues such as cancer, diabetes, hospice and genetic disabilities. Lastly, these books would give great insight to siblings and other family members in understanding a specitic medical condition and the process involved.
Tiffany Gates has worked in the healthcare field for 16 years. Currently, she is the Western Regional Sales Trainer for a healthcare firm. In addition, she stays active clinically as a PerDiem Pediactric Nurse providing in home Healthcare to medically fragile children and young adults specializing in ventilators and tracheostomies. These special patients have taught her that the greatest things in life are not things. There are so many patients and families that are not aware of services available and my hopes are that with my specific line of books, the educational process will begin and the anxiety will lessen.
