It is based on a whole-view approach that uses Dr. Marc Edmund Jones' detailed and unique 16-point analysis, together with a special section on the comparison of horoscopes, a full explanation of the four principal considerations relative to vocation or avocation and a glossary that includes more than two hundred of the more obscure terms encountered in astrological literature.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones (October 1, 1888 - March 5, 1980), affectionately referred to as the Dean of American Astrologers, was the originator of the Sabian symbols and founder of the Sabian Assembly. He was the author of eleven major textbooks on astrology and four other books, including the classic work, Occult Philosophy. Dr. Jones' astrological career began in 1913 and spanned nearly 70 years. During his lifetime, he earned several degrees, including a Ph.D. in philosophy from Columbia University. Although he was best known by the public for his contributions to the field of astrology, he was also an ordained Presbyterian minister, a qualified psychologist and a recognized authority on occult lore.
