Three years after joining the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in South Africa as a scientist, Neville Dent resigned to make a career in industry. Working initially in the technical department of a large manufacturing company, he progressively moved into production, industrial engineering and finally marketing, where he became Marketing Manager. In the mid 1980s he did his MBA at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and subsequently joined a distribution company owned by a large industrial group, becoming a shareholder and Managing Director.
In 2000 he re-located with his family to Ireland and settled in Killeagh a village close to Youghal, an historic seaport on the Blackwater river. Here he helped an Irish company set up a new division marketing industrial equipment. Recently he's been engaged in writing.
Neville has co-published various technical papers in international journals.
