This book consists of three parts: the first one describes (in a mainly practical and simple manner) how to approach the analysis of a sample of an unknown merchandise, and to control a sample whose composition has been declared by an import - export operator.
The second part shows some of the most important merceological categories of products of the organic chemical industry, by describing their characteristics and composition, and enclosing some schematic examples of analysis chosen from over 10,000 effected by the authors.
The third part includes a collection of infrared spectra of samples of industrial products analysed in twenty-five years.
Guiseppe Ventura graduated in organic chemistry in Rome (Italy), Univesitˆ degli Studi "La Sapienza", in 1968. Since 1969, he performs the analytic control of import - export organic products for the Department of the Chemical Laboratories of the Italian Customs Agency.
