The 1980s and 1990s experienced a proliferation of schools implementing Computer-Based Learning (CBL) and/or Computer-Based Training (CBT) because of today's technological growth. As Technology Education (TE) continues to receive significant attention, institutions attempt to better reach the critical goal of quality education by establishing the value that needs to be added to workers and students’ learning and achievement with technology. Dr. Bouaffo Joseph Kouame conducted a qualitative case study on this doctoral thesis: “The Digital Divide in Côte d’Ivoire: The Impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on Education”. The purpose of the study was to assess the major issues that impede the progress of education and to explore the impact of ICTs on the education system in Côte d’Ivoire. The study was also intended to explore the modalities for improving the quality of knowledge, management, and leadership in Côte d’Ivoire and concluded that these objectives would be reached through ICTs.

The universe is Nicky’s home and his friends are the planets and the stars, though his very best friends are the children of planet earth. He whispers softly to them, “DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK.” The US Review of Books “If only you believe, you can achieve anything.” Nicky Moonbeam, The Man in the Moon, has two very important tasks he must perform each night. First, he gives all the children of the world a giant hug with his long moonbeam arms. Then, he works as the “Big Night-Light” in the sky so children won’t be afraid of the dark. When Christmas Eve arrives, Nicky receives an emergency signal from the North Pole. Rudolph has come down with a cold and can’t guide Santa’s sleigh. The snow is falling faster and thicker by the minute while the mischievous Dream Stealers are playing practical jokes and pranks on Santa’s elves and reindeer. Nicky must help save Christmas. Building Babies Better
By Roxanne Small

Building Babies Better presents a framework to aide parents and caregivers in choosing the best activities and environments for their children. The author, a pediatric physical therapist, presents this framework based on prenatal and neonatal concepts learned in her professional and personal experiences with children over the past 30 years. While the main focus of the book is the baby from newborn through the first year of life, sections are included on applying these principles to the toddler/preschool child, adoption and bonding issues, as well as the child with special needs.

After presenting an overview of early child development and keys to good sensory-motor development, specific applications are discussed. Each chapter is written with the busy parent in mind, including easy to-follow directions, illustrations and a summary of activities to encourage/avoid at each stage. Whenever possible activities are incorporated into regular daily routines, such as how best to hold your baby, how to make feeding time more effective, and making floor time play more beneficial.

This second edition of Building Babies Better includes current research in the field of child development. The extensive notes section at the end of the book allows readers a valuable journey into research that guides good choices in child development.

In a world that is exploding with baby gear and items to stimulate baby, Building Babies Better gives parents a tool to evaluate whether these things will have a positive or negative impact on their child. They also learn to evaluate their child’s total environment, including vision, hearing, and touch so that they can make their child’s environment less stressful. Through Building Babies Better parents discover new ways to interact with their child in a calming, enjoyable way that has a lasting, positive impact. This book is a must read for parents!

By David J. Dionisi
US Review of Books Vigilant Christian V Perfect Money Planning by David J. Dionisi The below is the independent book review by P. Hooper "The secret to financial success is consistent growth. The secret to being rich is helping people, living simply, and giving from what you need instead of just what is left over" In a time when many are struggling financially, the merit of money planning and investing cannot be underrated. According to Dionisi, people's main financial goal should not be merely accumulation of wealth, however. Helping the poor and needy is not a luxury for the rich, but is an injunction for all Christians. Dionisi's aim in writing this book is to help readers manage their money in such a way as to enable people to fulfill their Christian duty, and he claims that this goal is attainable if one plans appropriately. Not just a basic book about budgeting, it also explains how the economy works. Dionisi describes in simple terms how the Federal Reserve operates, and he details the history of money since the Civil War. He then covers issues like establishing an emergency fund, determining one's priorities, and debt management. Not only does the author provide excellent advice on how to pay down debt, but he provides worksheets and quizzes to help the reader ascertain where to start. Other chapters cover such topics as insurance and what types are most important to buy, when owning a house is a smart option, and how to plan for retirement or funding college. He provides formulas to calculate retirement and college costs and discusses many investment options such as IRAs and Certificates of Deposit. Through it all, Dionisi emphasizes scriptural commands to be wise stewards over one's wealth. This book is a comprehensive guide to economic health and independence and is a must-read for anyone concerned about money and serving others. RECOMMENDED

By ALEX CAEMMERER JR. M.D.
Over the course of the last ten years, Dr. Alex Caemmerer has written well over one hundred letters to the editors of the New York Times, the Record (of Bergen County, New Jersey), and Psychiatric News, a journal aimed at psychiatrists and other behavioral health providers. The letters, arranged in chapters, represent his response to articles on a variety of topics, including psychiatry, psychoanalysis, religion, priests and bishops, depression, violence, homosexuality, and miscellaneous subjects of general interest. He was also inspired to write in on a variety of subjects, including the business of “Big Money,” the American automobile and its role in American culture, the symbolic meanings and needs the automobile satisfies in one’s psychology, and the practice of psychiatry (including a few examples of what brings one to a psychiatrist). He shared his opinions on business newscasters and their use of language, specifically the words and phrases aimed at scaring the public with frightening metaphors. Over the decades of his career, Dr. Caemmerer has been a witty observer and commentator on how people and society are changing—and not always for the betterment of either. These letters capture his unique perspective and his creative solutions to get things back on track.
