This book is for all those of us who love the Lord Jesus: because this whole topic is an issue that deeply concerns every one of us, and it really matters. Is there indeed a sin we treat as a virtue? Could this possibly be true of us, of me?

If there is something basic in biblical teaching about the way I live that is somehow slipping past me, then I want to do something about this. I will be eager to learn what it is, so that I can bring my life into line with the will and plan of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit: because of my love for the Lord Jesus - who said to his disciples, “If you love me, you will do what I command you” (John 14:15). And he said to those who claim to be his disciples, “How can you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things that I tell you?” (Luke 6:17, 46.)

Yes, there is a sin we are treating as a virtue.

This sin is greed—sheer plain greed. Coveting. The comfortable, respectable, sin. But the extremely dangerous and damaging sin. It is condemned by the Tenth Commandment. It is the sin Christ spoke against more often and more vehemently than any other— he warned against it in the strongest possible terms: “Beware! Take care! Watch out!” It chokes the Word of God in your life, he said. It hinders a person entering the Kingdom of God and deprives them of eternal life. That is how serious it is. Paul said that greed is a form of idolatry and can destroy a person. He found this sin sneaky, tricky, and insidious. The risk to us from this sin is all the worse because it is so often not recognized as sin. It is so all-pervasive that we do not actually see its deceitful danger. But statistics show it is insidiously at work in the church, seriously affecting its work and witness in the world.

It is a trap and a snare that can so easily catch us quite unawares. Breaking free of it is in fact one of the most difficult issues we face in our Christian lives. Can anything be done about this? Yes! It is crucial that we become aware of what the Bible says about it, and then think through how to live our lives in accordance with biblical teaching.

This book will point to all the relevant Scriptures. Can you afford not to heed what they say? They just might save you from spiritual disaster. Don’t treat this lightly. Jesus didn’t. Paul didn’t.

Animals have been with us since the state of existence or being. The bible tells us God created the animal kingdom for his pleasure. When God created the heaven and earth and all life that exist, he obviously saw a need for animals or they would not be here. Why God created them in the shapes and forms as they were we do not know; the choice was his and as I mentioned "He chose to do so in a way that pleases him."

Animals have a mind that gives them the ability to think and have feelings. Animals have a certain intelligence we do not possess such as an internal guidance system. Both dogs and cats have this ability and I would imagine there are other animals as well. God created everything with a purpose and a need; the animals kingdom is one such example. Many people believe God's purpose for animals is to serve humankind, and upon death they are to perish with no possible chance for eternal life. However, does the bible teach this? In the first chapter of the book of Genesis the bible tells us God considered the animals a creation that was very good; he was pleased with them. Many people consider the life of an animal as having a very small worth. To them an animal just lives and dies. Many people have the attitude of so what. The bible tells us God doesn't care for an attitude such as this because he values the life of his animals very much.

Throughout the entire bible the information found pertaining to the animal kingdom is very precise. The bible tells us the animals are to be forever. God had this intention when he created them and this application of thought remains today and forever. The bible never mentions mankind alone is to receive eternal life.

How different would our lives be without animals? There would be no pets for those who are lonely and without family. There would be no zoos for family outings. There would be no circus acts with animals. There would be no dog as a best friend. There would be no Seeing Eye dogs. There would be no animals to alert their owners of an ever-present danger during the night such as fires, burglars etc. I believe we simply overlook the fact there is a purpose for all of God's creatures. The purpose for this book is to reveal the truth in what the bible tells about the animal kingdom. We need to know God's purpose for them. The bible explains in detail God's plan for his animals even after death. God wants us to know about them or he would never have emphasized their importance in his word. Many people are reluctant to discuss the animal kingdom from a biblical point of view. I find this strange to say the least. God has included them in his written word but many ministers will say very little if anything about them.

The scriptures in this book are from the King James Bible. What the bible tells us is 100% accurate and lest we never forget, God simply made no mistakes in his word. The bible is never contradictory. We will read scriptures that clearly explain that animals will be in heaven and why God wants them to be there with us. If we had the power to give our pet(s) eternal life would we want the life of our animals to be temporal? If God loves his animals more than we could ever love them shouldn't this type of love indicate his love for them is tremendous? Since we know God can give animal's eternal life could be there any single reason to give them life that would be only temporary.

First we should know the bible is not dull, dismal or neutral. The bible is not an area between two extremes having mingled characteristics of both of them: a situation in which there are no clear-cut distinctions. The interpretations of scriptures have been defined several ways over the years and this has cause confusion in many churches. We will read scriptures about the animal kingdom that many of you may not know are in the bible. We will read scriptures that are clearly stated to mean one thing and one thing only, and that is, "Animals are to be in heaven."

By the time you have finished this book you will have a better understanding for the purpose of the animal kingdom. You may then decide if the scriptures do indeed tell us animals have a soul: do they have a spirit: did God create them with a purpose in this life: is he going to give them eternal life? With God's help you will decide.

From war and revolution in southern China to new beginnings in Singapore, this is a moving story of a Baptist missionary couple from Oklahoma who dedicated their lives to sharing their deep faith with the people of South China. In spite of terrible sacrifice, tragedy, and hardship, they never wavered in their dedication and gained the love of many Chinese people.

Louise Hill begins with her childhood and that of her husband, Eugene, in Oklahoma during the 1920s. They first met as students at Oklahoma Baptist University and quickly became soul mates in their quest for services as missionaries abroad. Married in 1934, their mission began in 1935 aboard the ocean liner "President Cleveland" heading for southern China. In Canton, they joined a well-established Baptist Mission, which included a church, seminary, school, and hospital. After a year of training in a difficult language "the like of which I never saw," they settled in to become teachers and ministers. With the Japanese invasion of 1938, they endured the constant danger of bombing, gunfire, and soldiers posted outside their front door. How they helped feed and care for refugees in dire circumstances is an amazing story of perserverance. The Hills survived and returned to the United States in 1940, only to suffer greater tragedy, the devastating loss of their son, "Little Gene." After World War II, they returned to war-ravaged Canton with their second son, John, and continued their ministry, rebuilt the shattered facilities, and helped restore the lives of their Chinese friends and neighbors. The turmoil of the Communist Revolution soon cast a pall over their efforts, eventually forcing them to leave.

Unable to return to China, but not wanting to give up their work among the Chinese they had come to love and admire, they were next sent to Singapore and surrounding Malaya (now Malaysia) to face new challenges. Unlike China, there was only a very small community of Chinese Christians. In the midst of an ongoing communist insurgency, they established new churches and schools. In 1955, after several bouts of severe illness brought on by the stress of missionary work, Eugene was offered an executive position with the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board in Richmond, Virginia. Eugene and Louise worked for many years among the Chinese immigrants in Richmond and other Virginia communities. In 1980 their work helped establish the first Chinese Baptist Church in Richmond. At 91, Louise Hill still attends church today.

Fortunate Families addresses the experience of Catholic parents who love their gay sons and lesbian daughters. The book had its genesis in a descriptive survey of over 200 such parents. It integrates results from the survey, church documents and stories so readers can access what they need most. Some readers will search for accurate information about Catholic teaching, others may connect with the lived experience of other Catholic parents. Still others will find examples of ministerial advocacy and support within the Catholic Church. Fortunate Families has all this and more.

Conventional wisdom emphasizes the stories of parents who react to the news that their child is gay in verbally or physically abusive ways. These stories are told so often they take on an aura of normalcy. But there are other stories - of parents who struggle against the pressures of society and church to find and believe in the goodness of their gay child.

It is critically important for parents to hear the stories of others who walked the same road before them-who have come through the experience closer to their gay or lesbian child, and who are willing to work to make the church more welcoming.

Equally important is the opportunity for pastoral ministers to hear the voices of these parents and understand the need for outreach and pastoral care for gay and lesbian Catholics and their families. Fortunate Families will help prepare pastoral ministers help families come out of their isolation, work through their confusion and pain, and celebrate how fortunate they actually are.

Have you ever wondered if there was more to being a Christian than what you have experienced in your Christian life? Is the average Christian in the average Christian church being all that he or she can and should be for Christ? What more should you be than you are now being for God? Can you really know Him better, follow Him more closely, and be a happier more content Christian than you are now? Is it possible to be "a genuine disciple" of Jesus in this day and time? What is spiritual maturity? Am I spiritual?

If you have pondered questions such as these, then this book is probably for you. The author establishes the five progressive levels of spiritual maturity for the Christian straight from the pages of Scripture. You will confront the Biblical terms and descriptions of these five levels of spiritual maturity, and see where you are on the spiritual spectrum. The author postulates that there is no secret or mystery concerning spiritual maturity. All you need is the knowledge of it, the will to do what God has called you to do, the dedication to do it,- and most of all- God's promised and powerful help in doing it.

You can be a disciple of Jesus in today's world. But it takes a "trust and obey" attitude, a prayerful desire, and a purposeful yielding to God to do it. This book will help point you in that way.

This book is about prayer. I realize that as a child of God, we have the victory, but many of us are struggling with strongholds that have been passed down from generation to generation, and as a result those strongholds are keeping us from living victoriously in certain areas of our lives. This book, when the principles are applied will help us to Turn Our Defeat Into Victory, and the weapon that we are going to use is PRAYER.

Once we realize that behind every situation that we face, there are spiritual powers and rulers of darkness at work, and before we can tear down the strongholds that the enemy has built, we must be able to recognize who he is. The Bible lets us know in Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, and now that we know who the enemy is we can move our weapons into place, and that weapon is PRAYER.

We all know there are lots of allegories in the Bible - not necessarily in the form of parables used by Jesus. John, Luke, Matthew and Mark sometimes use a language - or rather, a "method" of story-telling - which is obviously peculiar and ambiguous. The author of this remarkable book, Sipan Khoroz, is certain these allegories, or whatever they may be called, are just cryptographic references concerning Jesus' life. Written straightforwardly, this daring book might as well be food for thought against conventional visions of Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalene, Judas, even Herod, and many others. Here are some questions to be answered in this book:

  • Why was Jesus embalmed?
  • What was Joseph of Arimathea's and Nicodemus' real mission?
  • Who was Jesus' biological father?
  • Were Jesus and Judas brothers?
  • Did Jesus marry Mary Magdalene?
  • What did Judas really do before he was crucified?
  • What happened to him thereafter?
  • Was it really John who wrote the Revelation?
  • When will the Second Coming happen?

You will find many more answers in this thrilling book, a must-read for all those who might accept or might not accept the author's views of the Bible and its encrypted pages.

Christian Education case studies, theory, and mission theology

Christian Education Worldwide: Mission Possible is written for discussion groups and courses on missiology. Questions are provided for reflection at the end of each chapter, and there is a glossary of specialized terms. The purpose of the book is to demonstrate that a global teaching and learning network begun by missions and now related to indigenous churches exists. It can be a valuable resource in Christian efforts to sustain peace and bring about human rights and social justice.

There are three main parts of the book. Chapters on the meaning of Christian education, its history, and sketches of three key mission theologies begin the conversation. Ten case studies of Brazil, Chile, Kenya, Uganda, Lebanon, Palestine, India, Indonesia, Korea and Japan follow. Brief summaries of current Christian education projects and projections about this field in the twenty-first century conclude the study.

Five forms of Christian teaching and learning are examined here. Catechesis is the process by which newcomers to the faith are discipled. Basic literacy instruction empowers people with reading and writing skills. Elementary and secondary programs, vocational and higher education help people to further expand and deepen their knowledge and abilities. Christian leadership education produces new generations of dedicated laity and clergy.

The data included in Christian Education Worldwide indicate that communities of faith are designing curricula that relate religious belief to contemporary science, critical thinking and intellectual freedom. This trend should continue in the twenty-first century.

God inspired me to write this book because many people are walking around professing to be Christians but living a defeated life; Christians with no power - unable to help others going through various trials in their life because they have not matured in the Word.

In this book, it is my desire to help build the Body of Christ through teaching the fundamentals of salvation and allow you to see it requires action on your part. It is our faith that causes the hand of God to move in our lives. I have used the New King James Version, as well as, the New Living Version interchangeably to help people of all ages and intellect to understand what God requires and how maturity in His word is important. May this book bless your life as God has blessed me throughout the years.

The book is fiction concerning the birth, growth, and character of The One who will becomes the Anti-Christ. It concerns his education and development in to becoming the leader of the world and government and church. It details the manner of his miracle birth that in a sense duplicates the birth of Jesus. The one chronicling the events is one of his personal aides who is entrusted with appointments and keeping a journal of The One's daily responsibilities. He and an associate are the only ones who have access to the most intimate details ofThe One's personal and business life.

Some scripture is used and the plan of salvation is woven into the narrative. One conversation experience is documented.

The time invovled is the end time or the time just prior to what the fundamental Christians call the Rapture or the Second Coming of Jesus the Christ. The fictional story begins with the birth of The One and continues until his ascendancy to the supreme seat of power and his coronation as the ruler of the world system. The book ends as the Rapture (calling up of the saints) occurs.
