The drummers of today are reaching new levels of speed, control, endurance and musicality. Now more than ever drummers need to develop their hands and feet to a high level of skill in order to compete in the music business. Techniques in Interdependence is about learning how your limbs work together and how they relate to time. Practicing and applying the exercises in this book will help you develop interdependence. Reviews " 'I love this book!' In this day and age when there are so many drum instructional books to choose from, Techniques in Interdependence Volume I is a book that you will actually use. Comprehensive and well conceived, its vast number of patterns and combinations will benefit all levels of students, instructors, and pros, as well as to help identify each player's strengths and weaknesses. And that's crucial, because every drummers style is a combination of both what a drummer can, and cannot play." -Paul Wertico (Paul Wertico Trio, Larry Coryell Trio, Pat Metheny Group, Roosevelt University, Northwestern University, Clinician) ________________________________ "Bryan has created an interdependence version of the George Stone classic 'Stick Control'. Every permutation and combination are outlined in detail which leads the student in the right direction for a step by step understanding and execution of coordination between all limbs." -Grant Collins (Australian Drum Master, The Collins/Wardingham Project)

As explained throughout the book, having the talent is one thing, but amassing the knowledge, resources, equipment, etc, and then getting yourself into a position where you can entertain people with a view to earning some money is another. Like any trade, the entertainment industry is not something you can just jump into. You have to learn the basics and learn about the industry you are getting involved in. There has to be some kind of an 'apprenticeship' of sorts. If you are even considering starting up as a 'gigging' musician ( going on the road ), spend a couple of weeks or even months with a working act or band, preferably the latter. Travel with them from the moment they leave for the gig. Don't just meet them at the gig, that's cheating. Jump in from the start. You should get an idea how long it can take to pick up band members and equipment with the added bonus of travelling in the back of a cramped van! It's very surprising how much you learn from attending 'coal face' gigs from start to finish. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you need to; they had to start somewhere themselves!

The unique design of this book will introduce you gradually and easily to the wonderful world of music. The first of two learning phases is based exclusively on the key of G and the keys of C major and A minor (white keys). This makes it easier to master the learning process and to assimilate the musical text using new and entertaining rhythmic figures. Each new element comes with a theoretical component as well as written and rhythmic exercises. The second learning phase introduces the F key using simple, graduated exercises, and explains sharp and flat notes (black keys). This teaching method, originally designed for children, has long been tested on people of all ages, and has shown itself to be both very useful and well accepted by all. The repertory includes many multicultural songs, among them the most melodious works for beginners created by such great composers as Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn, Purcell, Tchaikovsky, Steibelt and Corelli (among others).

Harmonic bases of the flamenco guitar use a universal musical theory. This approach tries to put within the reach of the flamenco guitarist a series of instruments which allow him to boost his creativity without the need to memorise. At the same time it gives the non flamenco guitarist, interested in fusion, access to such a complex music through a basic theory which he already knows. It is not only a book on how to learn to play flamenco mechanically but also to understand it. It is for all guitarists, professionals and amateurs. It includes brief notes about the history of harmony and of flamenco, harmonic characteristics of different styles in addition to practical exercises of auto-correction. It is the ideal complement to all other available methods of learning the flamenco guitar is available. The student will benefit immediately from this book without having to consult complicated books on classic harmony or jazz. On reading it he will be able to enter in the passionate world of composition, with little effort and will create his own falsettos along all the neck of the guitar. The didactic contents, as well as its signicant contribution to the theory regarding the "Flamenco Guitar" have been guaranteed by two of their main references as Paco de Lucía and Enrique de Melchor: “Thank you José. Flamenco music was feeling the need of having such a book”. Paco de Lucía "The book is of great importance because it proves the richness of flamenco regarding music and it allows those people who do not have previous experiences to know, feel or interpret the Flamenco music to get involved and be introduced in this wonderful music and its variety of styles in an appropriate manner", Enrique de Melchor.
