This book is unique in many ways. It is not only fun and exciting to read, but opens the children who read it to the world of prose and poetry. Its illustrations are magnificent, and even if the children can't read it at first, it will provide a great visual interpretation for them. Parents will enjoy the way the book presents itself and the way it will enable them to provide the necessary guidance to their children for proper behavior while riding to school on a school bus. There are few books that are written that relate to a specific audience, that being children's behavior and twins also. This is just the first book in a series of nine that will be published in the near future that will cover many important topics for children., through the wonderful work of a great illustrator and the use of poetry. Topics such as, relating to a death of a loved one, how to act at a restaurant, going to church, going on a trip, making and meeting friends at a park, and being cool in school will be covered in future books. Also, a great book of poetic rhyme and illustrations is coming soon. This would be a great book to read to children at nighttime or any time of the day. Anyone who purchases it will see the quality and time that went into its production. This book is an excellent teaching tool for both educators and parents to use when talking about behavior on the school bus. It is easy to read and should appeal to children in the primary grade levels.

This is a lively inspirational picture book about children's favourite modes of transportation (rocket, car, boat, train, and plane) that young children and beginning readers will want to read again and again. With cheerful, fun pictures and the use of familiar sounds, and rhythmic, rhyming phrases, your child will quickly memorize and "read" the story with you; a critical first step to reading on his or her own. With simple, bold colored text emphasizing focal words (e.g. ZOOM! ZOOM!, BEEP! BEEP!), your child may even begin to recognize and read the printed words. A motivational message that encourages your child to try hard ends the story. The story is followed by four pages of coloring activities that engage children to think about things they would like to do, and express themselves through drawing. The brightly colored, cheerful illustrations are designed to appeal to young children, from infants to beginning readers. This book is sure to be a first and enduring favourite.

Sam is one of eight small ferries (or water taxis) that serve Victoria Harbour in British Columbia. As the newest member of the team he learns his job, including basic nautical terms, transporting people and their parcels, recognizing different kinds of boats, touring the harbour, saving a kayaker and later a baby orca, traveling through fog, and finally earning the chance to "dance" in the Sunday Water Ballet. His motto for readers is that "Every day is an adventure when you watch, try, learn and do something new." Book is designed for the young of, and visitors to, Victoria as well as for others who want to share a key part of this magical city. Scenes and famous landmarks of Victoria are illustrated throughout book.

I was tired of reading teddy-bear books, and books about cute animals. There's nothing wrong with those types of books. I just wanted something a little more adventurous, and exciting. Every child likes motorcycles. Every child can relate to some kind of racing situation. Who gets some place first becomes a natural aspect of childhood. I was road-racing motorcycles, and I always saw families with children at the track. I wanted a motorcycle-racing story to read to my kids, but there were none to be found. So I wrote one. I met Jim Serfass while racing, and I knew he could translate the story into the perfect character. His artwork surpassed anything I had envisioned, and really brought the story to life. This book is true to racing and fun for children, and adults of all ages. I think you'll find there is no other picture book on the market today that is quite like this one. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we have. There may be more to come...

Written by a grandfather for his grandchildren, this 28 page, brightly illustrated, fun-to-read children's book is perfect for parents to read to their young children. Somewhat older children that are avid readers will enjoy reading it by themselves also. The illustrations are uncomplicated, yet the vibrant colors and sharp contrasts draw the listener’s attention and give his/her imagination free reign. The main and only character in the story is a young, happy, carefree little train. He tells his own story about his remarkably adventurous winter. He is happy at the beginning and at the end … and throughout. There is no grown-up underlying message from the presumably wise and experienced to the presumably unwise and inexperienced. It is more a poetic epic than a short story. The text size is large-lettered and the words are simple. Yet many of the words and phrases (e.g., "powbango" & "twitch me silly") are invented and most of the spelling is unique ("... bumpded dee twee..." and "... onto dee twack...") to make it fun to read and to listen to. The unique language and pronunciation means that the reader automatically and effortlessly animates the story. It comes alive naturally and, with it, so does the main character. By the end that "littl’ twain" is your friend for life. Children will enjoy it over and over again.
