This story takes place in the small town of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. The events take place around Hunter's grandparents house on Loon Lake just outside of town. Hunter is a toughened city kid who lives in an overcrowded neighborhood and attends an over crowded school. His favorite event of the year was traveling to Loon Lake to spend time with his grandparents. After Hunter's grandfather dies Hunter goes out to the lake to fish in their favorite fishing hole and gets side tracked catching butterflies for his grandma. While catching butterflies Hunter accidentally gets his net tangled in a deer's antlers and gets lost in the woods. The skills hunter learned from the Boy Scouts and his grandfather help him keep calm, survive a night outdoors, and make it back to his grandparent's house. We hope that parents, teachers, aunts, and uncles will share this book with the ones they love. If this book becomes one child's or one parents favorite book we would be honored.

Marni Altaker-Mount's My First Day of School is a great starter book for any child experiencing school for the first time. Marni Altaker-Mount wrote this book while pursuing her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. After successfully completing her undergraduate studies, completing a Masters of Education, and teaching for eight years she realized there was a need to publish her book for both classroom and home use to help children cope with their first school experience. Through the use of vivid color illustrations by AmyBeth Quering, this book is not only verbally stimulating but also visually entertaining. My First Day of Schoolhas easy text for read-alouds with early reader attention to numbers and letters. This book is a great tool for early education. The theme, of course, is the first day of school. A usual view would be from a child's perspective; this book is from a teacher's perspective. The reader does not find this out until the end of the book, but it clearly shows the teacher and the children share the same routines and apprehensions about the first day of school. This is quite a lovely and educational book, which will reach children, parents, and teachers. This book will also be a useful motivational tool for children with a fear of their first day in a classroom setting.

"Do I have to get a shot, Mom?" the typical child asks on the way to the doctor. Fortunately, for most children, vaccinations occur only rarely. For children like Hannah, however, who live with the daily routine of coping with juvenile diabetes, shots are a way of life - indeed, a way of survival. Hannah's Heroes is based on the life of a real little girl named Hannah who lives each day to the fullest while fighting a life threatening disease. Hannah's story appeals to all children whether or not they have juvenile diabetes. The story depicts a friendship that overcomes the daily struggles of the disease. Hannah, like other children with diabetes, relies on her heroes - healthcare professionals, parents and friends - to help her live a "normal" life. Richly illustrated and emotionally charged, Hannah's Heroes will move you to join the rest of the heroes in helping children like Hannah to find a cure for juvenile diabetes. Hannah's request comes straight from the heart of a child. She wants everyone to join her and the many others in the "Walk for the Cure," sponsored around the world by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). This unique story will touch the hearts of young readers. Hannah is a "normal" little girl who is fighting a big battle. She needs help to do it. For further information on the author please go to www.sutersshopping.com The young boy had a conception of life that no experience would ever erase - a predilection for what was real. He started out with a multitude of adversity. He was very poor, raised by a single parent, and he was a "Black Boy." All mingled into one, the young boy had pride, and he got joy out of defeating an enemy, living up to the enemy's worst expectations, the wonder of his growth, and the determination to follow the track through to the end. His enemy was the world, and he got gratification out of defeating the people who said that he would never amount to anything. Some people gossiped that he would never meet his father. Some people alleged that he would never make it out of school. However, he did! He awakes with a loud cry as though having been "slapped out of the human race." After sounding the maximum danger of the journey, the mother started to cry and pray. OH LORD, OH LORD, THANK YOU FOR ALL THINGS! I COME TO YOU AS HUMBLE AS I KNOW HOW. I KNOW THAT I HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF YOUR GLORY. I HAD A CHILD AND I'M VERY YOUNG AND I UNDERSTAND THAT I CAN'T TAKE IT BACK. I JUST NEED YOUR HELP. I COME TO YOU TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS AND STRENGTH TO CONTINUE ON. HERE I AM LORD. I'VE MADE A REAL MESS OF MY LIFE. I'VE HURT OTHERS AND MYSELF. I DON'T WANT TO STAY THIS WAY. I'M SO SORRY FOR ALL THE WRONG THINGS I DID, AND ALL THE PAIN I'VE CAUSED. I TRUST IN YOUR FORGIVENESS OF ME. AS I REPENT OF THE PAST AND TURN TO GO YOUR WAY, LORD, MAY I GROW.
