"Santa Niclaus The Narth Pole Narth Pole, Heartsheaven, XOXOX

Dear Reader:

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

I'm writing to you especially, about being a Christian child at Christmas. I know it's probably difficult to understand when at times you see me, Santa, sitting in a mall or store visiting with children. Maybe your elders have told you that there is no such person as 'Santa'. Or maybe some elders have even gone so far as to say that 'Santa' is an evil creation, invented to take away from Jesus at Christmas.

But, you see so many parents lined up wit their children to see 'Santa'! And so many are laughing and having fun! You hear the children shout the name 'Santa Claus' with glee and they're so excited they look like they're going to bust!

'Santa' smiles and picks up a child onto his lap and asks the child what his or her name is, and if he or she has been good all year. Then he wants to know what the child wants for Christmas!

In most cases a picture is taken for a lasting memory of child and 'Santa'. And 'Santa' is so nice!

How can anything be wrong with that you might wonder?

Nothing is wrong with it! At least not on the surface. There's absolutely nothing wrong with making children happy. Watching their faces light up with genuine joy is the greatest moments in human history, past and present. And if there could ever be a future when all God's children smile and laugh all the time it would be a glorious future! If they could have everything they want and everything they want is good for them, it would be heaven. That is what a good Christian Santa wants for all children and he wants them all to know that ALL good things come from God.

The only problem is that until we all go to be with Jesus in Heaven and while we live on this earth there will always be hard times. There will always be people with children in need and the children will suffer. Many children will not even have enough food, clothing or shelter. And of course they most certainly won't have enough books, music, or toys.

Many times that is what is wrong with the typical 'Santa' whom you see visiting in the local mall or store. Many times the mall or store that hired him expects him to hear only the material needs and desires of the children he talks with. And they want to sell the parents that moment of Christmas cheer caught in a photograph of their child sitting on 'Santa's' lap. Of course the price goes up every year. it's all about sales which is all about money."

Dear ___________,

Santa here again! Hoooooo Hoooooo Ho!!!

I know it's been awhile since I've written but I thought I'd drop you a line and ask a little favor from you.

You know the Easter Bunny right?

Well, see, he's a REALLY good friend of mine and he promised to make me some REALLY special Easter eggs this year. He's making me special Easter eggs because we're celebrating the anniversary of our friendship. It's the 500th year since we met!

That's right! 500 years ago, when he was just a teenie weenie little bunny we met for the very first time!

Now I know right now you're probably saying, "No way! A bunny can't live for 500 years!"

Hoooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo Hooooooooo!!!

But that's why I knew our meeting was very important! Here, let me tell you the WHOLE story!

It was the year 1503 AD and it was New Years Eve. I had met with Old Man Time to see the New Year come in. Jack Frost, and Mother Goose met us in the clouds above London, England as well. And thank goodness there was one other being hovering above the city with us. The Tooth Fairy!

That's right! The Tooth Fairy!

Right away I know you're going to start giggling and shriek, "The Tooth Fairy? Why was the Tooth Fairy so important?"

Hooooo Hooooo Ho!

Well first of all let me tell you the Tooth Fairy is a very important person! Did you know that when he slips quietly into your room in the night that any monsters under your bed or in your closet scatter away in fear? Sure! They have teeth! Big sharp teeth! And the Tooth Fairy loves to hunt the monsters and pull a few of their teeth for trophies!

More importantly though, he not only leaves you some money when he takes your old tooth from under your pillow, he also makes absolutely sure your adult tooth is going to grow. Otherwise you'd be toothless! Hooooo Hooooo Ho!

Anyway! That night it was a good thing he was there because while we were watching 1503, all old and tarnished leave and 1504 all young and brilliant come in the Tooth Fairy got a call!

Nooooooo! He didn't have a cell phone! Hooooooo Hooooo Hooo!!

As is the way with many of us magical beings a star began to blink in a particular rhythm so he knew the call was for him. So he waved his wand and the image of the Supreme Fairy appeared on the star's surface.

"Hey Toothy!", the Supreme Fairy quipped. "I hate to bother you on New Year's Eve but I've got one more visit for you to make tonight."

The Tooth Fairy replied, "No problem boss! That's my job. Give me the directions."

Much to all of our surprise the tooth Toothy had to pick up was that of a baby bunny's.

Surprised? Oh sure! Baby bunnies and other animals get visits from the Tooth Fairy too, but they get carrots, or cabbage or something they would like.

Well, I knew that Toothy wanted to get back in time to see the New Year come all the way in so I offered to give him a ride there and back on my sleigh. I mean, he's fast but nine reindeer are much faster! Hooooo Hooooo Ho!!!

But before we could leave much to our surprise, Old Man Time got a call from his office and was told he MUST go with us! His secretary informed him that the very same young bunny that had lost a baby tooth that day was to get a special gift! The gift of long life! The little bunny was going to become a magical being like the rest of us.

This is a charming short story designed for very young children and intended to teach the concept of giving to those less fortunate even if you think you have nothing to give. The main character, Easter Bunny-also known as E. Bunny, has a case of doldrums because it is Christmas time and not Easter...and therefore, he does not have his usual stash of eggs and candy to give away.

To ease his anxiety and sadness, he decides to take a walk. Heading out toward Farmer Hogan's farm, he happens upon a poor soul (Sammy Scarecrow) who is about to be blown away in the winter wind because his straw is falling out. After considering Sammy's situation, E. Bunny gets a terrific idea and hops back to the Bunny Village where he lives and calls to his bunny friends and relatives to listen to his plan.

The bunnies devise a strategy and they all head out for Sammy's place which is in Farmer Hogan's cornfield. Sammy is still shivering and miserable and upon a command from E. Bunny, all the little bunnies hop up on Sammy and cuddle together. Sammy is happy and pleased to be given this gift of warmth. However, realizing that they can't stay hooked onto Sammy forever, the next day the bunny ladies get together and sew Sammy a brand new coat so his straw stuffing won't fall out and Sammy is a cheerful scarecrow once again.

A little girl's Christmas wish triggers a parade of puppies, with a new puppy magically appearing each morning, much to the dismay of her parents. Come join in the excitement to see what happens each morning. This story was developed at the request of Maya, a real little girl who loves dogs, and can't wait to have her own puppy. It started out with 'Momma, please tell me a sstory.' Then the story was so fun that it was written down. It is a nice family story that everyone can identify with - either parents who are worried about how many dogs they could deal with (especially the slobbery ones or the trouble makers!) or the little girl who can't believe that her wish has come true... even better than she ever imagined. The warm and whimsical illustrations capture the essence of a child's imagination.
