Why I Waited is based on a true story about my commitment to remain abstinent until marriage. It gives accounts of actual incidents that challenged my desire to keep the promise that I made to God and myself. The book offers many reasons why one who is contemplating engaging in pre-marital sex should wait until marriage. It acknowledges that temptations do exist and are real, but it counters those thoughts with biblical scriptures that helps one conquer and overcome those temptations. For those who have engaged in sexual activity already, Why I Waited conveys a message of hope and recommitment. Encouragement and empowerment are the key objectives of this God-approved guide intended for young adults, but may be of use to all. It offers bible-based words of wisdom that assists in helping one make the right choices, and it also identifies important strategies that help strengthen and build a healthy self-esteem. It addresses the debilitating power of negative peer pressure and how one’s life may be destroyed as a result of succumbing to it. Why I Waited stresses a goal of sexual purity, and a reliance on God to help you achieve that goal.

A copy of this book ensures you a special form of refreshment. Half of its proceeds will be donated to the Diana J East Breast Cancer Foundation, whose mission is to improve treatment to a breast cancer patient, and also encourage medical teams to explore additional non-traditional and meaningful forms of therapy to the patients, such as laughter, emotional, and moral support to both the patients and the families. A Breast Cancer Rhythm is a humble recipe for the soul, whose modest ingredients are (i) an imagination, (ii) a little bit of talent, and (iii) a collective effort. It strives to elaborate that breast cancer effects go a long ways beyond and above the scope of the naked eye. It is a rhythmic opportunity to explore the less obvious perspectives on the disorder. It is a universal rhythm, discernable not only to those who have, or have had an intimate encounter with the disease, but rather to everybody. It is specifically composed for the ears of anybody that cares. Therefore, if you care about breast cancer, it is your rhythm. In order to inject additional power and courage into the souls of the newly diagnosed patients, the rhythm includes a short list of some of the well known victors of the battle. The rhythm is worth every penny, and every breast cancer patient is worth all of the help you are willing to give.

Since 1994 when Karen Hurd opened her nutritional practice, she knew that she would need to publish a cookbook at some point. As the consumption of legumes is a critical part of most every person’s plan for healing, the need for a bean cookbook became evident. There are other bean cookbooks that have been published; however, the use of sugar, molasses, honey, or other sweeteners are prolific in those recipes. These are additions that Karen could not endorse because they do not add but rather subtract from a person’s health. At the request of her clients and in light of the need for a cookbook that gave innovative recipes that were unquestionably healthy, she began the process of creating a cookbook. Over 300 recipes have been created to bring you and your family great health by the eating of beans, one of our richest sources of soluble fiber. Appetizers, soups, salads, main dishes, snacks, hummus and spreads, side dishes, and bean breads are all a part of this excellent work. With confidence the reader of this recipe book will be able to make delicious food that is 100% good for them—no need to weed out questionable ingredients. The recipes are easy to follow and easy to make.

After retiring from 25 years of teaching in the Head Start Program, I was thinking about writing a children's book. A co-worker suggested a book on gun safety. After thinking about the need for this type of information, I enlisted my 4 grandchildren and my sister (who I think takes pretty good pictures), to help me with the book. This is the story of four young cousins, who find a gun in the woods while searching for their Grandma's lost cat. It explains what children should do if they find a gun. We hope the information in this book helps to keep kids safe in a similar situation.

Positive People: Combatting HIV and AIDSis a fusion of stories, mostly from one of the co-authors (Wyatt-Morley) based on her personal experience as an HIV positive mother and as Executive Director of an HIV/AIDS support organization, Women On Maintaining Education and Nutrition (WOMEN), together with writings, mostly in the form of arresting and very down-to-earth poems by Dr. Ian Mayo-Smith, an international expert on management and development, who is former Vice Chairman of the Board of WOMEN, and currently its International Adviser. The book highlights the special problems of people of color in gaining access to health care and in particular discrimination against women in medical matters. It deals with the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS amongst the elderly as well as amongst teenagers and people in their twenties. The authors plead for a greater understanding of this global health crisis and for realistic action to deal with it.

Every page in Kid's Medical Records is designed for specific records pertaining to different aspects of a child's medical history from birth to 10 years of age. In today's world it is more important than ever for children to grow up having a great deal of medical knowledge about themselves. What better way to make this happen then to give them the gift of their birth record, growth chart, family medical history, immunizations, doctor visits, hospital stays, tests and check ups all conveniently grouped together in one book? There are places to record adverse reactions to medication and shots, as well as specifics on where things like glasses and hearing aids were purchased. There are several pages throughout the book where parents can write in other "medical notes or notes of interest." These pages may be used to record notes on special medical problems of the child, family matters that matter, or just worldwide newsy notes that would help a child in later years to be more aware of the world he grew up in. Last, but not least, is a section entitled "Compare through the Years." This section provides special records for children ages 3-10 to record "things that affect their well being." Parent's are encouraged to fill in the blanks in the "attitudes" and "eats, drinks and exercise" sections once each year, with their child's exact answer. Since some questions pertain to school friends and school teachers, it would be good to do this each year toward the end of the school term. Whether these pages bring joy to their hearts or tears to their eyes, children will love the memories and will love their parent's for sharing them through the pages of this book.

Every child is special. Whether it is a child's bright red hair, or picture perfect dimples; a boy's powerful line drives, or a girl's angelic choir solo, each child stands out from the rest in his or her own way. Sometimes a child's uniqueness isn't so accepted by his or her peers. Maybe they have never seen it. Maybe they are afraid of it. Maybe they just need to learn more about it. This story is about a little boy, Reed, who is very different than most little children. Reed has a severe speech disorder, Apraxia, which leaves him almost completely unintelligible to his peers. This story is told from the viewpoint of his older sister, as she is well aware of his challenges and his triumphs. Instead of exclusively focusing on what Reed is unable to do, this story portrays the many things he can do with his peers, despite his inability to speak to them. ''My Brother is Very Special'' gently teaches young children about acceptance in a way that they can developmentally understand. By reading this story to young children, we encourage them to ask questions about differences they see in others. In return, this soothes their fears and fosters their acceptance. Although the main character in this book has a speech disorder, it is written in a way that makes it universal. With developmentally appropriate text and bright, whimsical illustrations, ''My Brother is Very Special'' is perfect for all young children.
