This book takes a very simple approach on investing and helps explain it in a story about two children. It is intended for children and teenagers aged 10 to 15, but also is a book that adults can use to easily understand concepts about investing. The basic premise of the book is that a child investing only $10 a month in mutual funds and adding more per month starting as a teenager can create wealth of about a million dollars over their lifetime, due to the length of time the money is invested. The book is intended as an educational source for both children and adults. Children and adults can learn that if they start investing early and regularly they can create significant wealth over their lifetimes. If children learn this lesson early they will develop good money habits and be investors throughout their lifetime. This book would be a great gift to a child to help them start to learn how to invest, which will be something that will stay with them for the rest of their lives and hopefully help them be financially independent.

The boy in the story is a child with an attitude. He loves ice cream, watching Star Trek and basketball, and watching his money grow. The story talks about why and how to invest in mutual funds, but also leaves the message that there are many more important things in life besides money.

Reviews

MYSHELF.COM
...I read the book aloud to my five-year-old, who is definitely over the target age group and she liked it. She enjoyed the interactive element - touching the pictures that show the color you've just learned on the page before. She also likes anything that rhymes and the text does have very good, consistent meter. As I said, it charmed my daughter so for rhyme-loving toddlers, the book should be a fun addition.

I Am Not Too Young to Learn About Money! teaches young people, ages 8 and up, the ABC's of managing their own money, even small amounts, and helps them to make this knowledge their own to use. They are shown step-by step how and why to develop the habit of saving for the future, how to figure and save 10% of their money, even how one million dollars can be accumulated in forty years.

Amazing Book!!! I found a copy of this book while at the BC Children's Hospital. How wonderful for the children in this hospital to have the opportunity to read this book. Every hospital that has a children's ward should have this book. This is by far the best ABC book ever written, a must have for every child. I highly recommend this book for all children in all settings. Its points of positive reinforcements while reading each letter's story is a delight. This is one book you will read over and over again. It is the perfect gift for a child. The illustrations are colorful and as each letter's story unfolds teaching life's lessons in such a positive caring manner you want to keep turning the pages. The writer's talent for writing and caring nature shines through in her work and I look forward to her future books

A Montessori Milestone
..ABC in Harmony has helped nurture the virtues of courage, gentleness, caring and responsibility in our Montessori preschool class. And the delicately coloured detailed illustrations enkindle a love of nature in the children.

Whimsical and Wonderful
I wish I had this book when my kids were little. The author gently flows through the ABC's with illustrations that keep the little audience captive and words that inspire thought and emotion. I get to share this book with my nieces now and they love hearing it over and over again.

ABC's of Life
..ABC in Harmony encompasses so much more than teaching the English alphabet. It touches on so many things that matter most in life.
When children feel positive about themselves, this is when they will thrive. This wonderful book will help all children to attain this goal.
There is so much love in this little book. Love for each other, for the animals and nature...and most importantly, learning to love ourselves.

A lovely, powerful influence for the child psyche My little girl has learned her alphabet with this book and is now, excited to start Kindergarten, if only all life's lessons were so pleasant and easy.. My daughter gravitates to this book more than any other book we have.... No matter how many times we read it there is something new to look at and discuss.. My daughter experienced empathy for hte characters in this book, and it was while reading this book that she first articulated empathy.. We have a chance to talk about compassion, and kindness, and there are examples of many more values that are easy for her to grasp. This book encompasses all the things I want to teach my children, and until now have not had the words to express myself, in a way that she would understand... This book has allowed me to teach her some of the things I believe are important for her to know, we use the reference in the back more and more, the reference has become my favorite part as it helps me to explain a little more about each page, and illustrates the moral and value of each story..Why not, teach our kids values while they learn, she is like a little sponge and I want to give her every opportunity to learn the things that will help her live a full and happy life... This book helps to do just that....IT is an excellent start for learning and life, owning this book should be a pre-requisite for any partenting position...
Thanks to the Author for sharing this masterpiece with our future leaders....I hope that there will be many more books from you to come....We will read them all...

This book surpasses any ABC book I've ever read. It is full of positive messages, introduces new appropriate words perhaps not normally assosiated with this type of book. I have bought this book for my sons to read to their future children its that good.
Enjoy!

This is not your everyday ABC book. It is a wonderful mix of personal and environmental stewardship without preaching. Engaging children with fun and unique rhymes. It would be an asset to any early elementary or ESL classroom and excellent for anyone with young children.

I absolutely love this book. I read it to my grand-children and it makes for a very enjoyable time for us. Each letter tells it's own story. The stories and illustrations are heart-warming for both adults, and children. I wish I would have had such a book when my children were young. I was always looking for books/movies that had meaningful messages. They certainly get enough fluff and garbage bombarding them, daily. It is nice to read something, together, that is mindful and respectful of animals, nature, relationships, and most of all children. It is a wonderful tribute to children, everywhere.

The Practical Handbook of Group Counseling is written mainly as a primer to be used in group work with children, adolescents, and parents. The first edition was used by over three hundred colleges and universities in the United States. Its unique design allows the reader to use it as a ready reference for practical information. It is presented as a text that can challenge the individual’s ideas and upon which the counselor can develop techniques that will fit his/her personality and meet the needs of the group.

The text was the first comprehensive practical book in this field. It is a synthesis of the various problems and successes that the counselor may encounter and offers one model that may be useful in resolving and/or enhancing some of these issues. The author utilizes the public school setting as the vehicle for presenting his material. Since the school is a cross section of the population, the model proposed here can be adapted to other social agencies that utilize group counseling techniques.

The author, Dr. Sheldon D. Glass, has a significant background in group work and in child and adolescent development. He is uniquely qualified in this area because he has completed formal training in education, adult psychiatry, child psychiatry, and pediatrics.
