HUMOR - Political

Sort By: Products per Page:
By Brian Eden

New humorist writer, Brian Eden, extracts the absurd from the accepted and the strange from the ordinary in story after story of comic reflection about the world in general and American society in particular.

Relating some of his more bizarre experiences with a mixture of admitted philosophical dribble, obtuse political thinking, some worldly strangeness and a sampling of his peculiar outside the box analysis of what's socially correct and what's not... and you have this book, over 75 stories to keep the reader entertained.

Eden's whimsical take on society and human nature will keep you chuckling.

Treat yourself to Brian Eden's philosophical thoughts, suggestions, experiences, observations, satire, musings, speculations and absurdities about society and our place in the cosmos.

By HAMA TUMA

Give Me a Dog's Life Any Day, the second book of African Absurdities by Hama Tuma, is a collection of satirical articles on the African and the world political reality, of the double standards that exist, the follies of governments and politicians and of citizens too. There is parody here, ironic laughter at the very serious problems of Africa, a call to ponder on the failures of governance, the lack of democracy using the prism of irreverent satire. Nothing is sacred; the pompous leaders are made fun of and their naked state exposed. Book II of African Absurdities goes even farther than Book I in poking fatal fun at African leaders, their patrons in the West and at life in general. This is a book that will entertain and make you laugh but it will be the laughter of the knowing, the victim, the conscious and the one who is keen on justice but is realistic enough to know that this world is not fair to the weak and the defenseless.

And now for something completely different--Monty python

The world the truth! An original history book of political satire fantasy, about the glorious president and military occupation of Iraq.

The roots and background of this book come from my university degree in Classic History, combined with a profound interest in Military History. This knowledge triggered a simple and intriguing idea during the heated U.S. Presidential election of 2004.

I observed that the U.S. Military’s invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003, reminded me of General George Armstrong Custer’s Indian Campaign of 1876. The never-ending bloody fight in Iraq against savage enemies by the U. S. Army, appeared similar to Custer’s epic massacre of the 7th Cavalry Regiment at the Little Big Horn. I started making several jokes about this at my workplace, and the jokes expanded into a book idea.

I now give you the futuristic fantasy tale of General George Hannibal Busch, and the epic Battle of the Little Big Oil Well in the great U.S.-Iraq Wars of the 22nd Century! This book will expand into a series, covering the overall War on Terror.

Ever since the inaugural Life of Reilly column appeared in the Drogheda Independent's Drogheda Weekend Extra (now the Drogheda Weekend) on 31 January 2003, life has changed utterly in 'Drawda'.

A lifetime resident, local historian and author Tom Reilly has created a veritable institution with his weekly satirical columns.

Reilly insists that his sideways view of the world proves that everybody in the town is completely screwed up, not just him.

"The man's a fool." - Cllr Paul Bell

This selection of over 100 previously published columns has been carefully chosen for inclusion in this book to mark Life of Reilly's three-year anniversary. It includes all the classics, some of which you may have missed. They'll make you laugh, cry, and if you're a borough councillor they'll make you very very mad.

"Reilly's a dead man." - Frank Godfrey

Every single cent that is made on this book will go to charity.
