The premise of this book is to illuminate and clarify some of the recent information on healthy aging as it is evolving, and also to provide insight, guidance, help, and yes, even wisdom for those of you who wish to start NOW down the road to becoming happy, healthy and fit as you get "older - and not old". It has been said that we "spend our health accumulating our wealth, and spend our wealth to get our health back once it's gone". This is just wrong in my book. Why not live and maximize your opportunities for health and wealth TODAY and shed the regret, guilt, anguish and pain of what we COULD have done diferently. The past is gone - we cannot change it. Living in the present is the only sure way to begin this journey of becoming happy, healthy and fit for life - so why not start here and now? We are the new pioneers of a new paradigm on aging and I personally can't wait to find out what is possible - for ALL of us! I want to be able to run a 6 minute mile on my 80th birthday. What do you want to be able to do at a comparable age? Walk on the Great Wall of China? Fly a plane? Or just play with your grandchildren? Take a step into your future by deciding TODAY to examine yourself openly and honestly - and see what happens. You could be in for a BIG and happy surprise!

Fluoride and fluoridation will go down as one of the greatest controversies of the 20th century. Up until the early 1940’s, fluorine’s effect on life was always deemed poisonous. It was proven to be altering enzymes used by living organisms to carry out a multitude of essential processes. Fluorine, the most reactive element on the planet, is also the strongest free radical. Scientists in the 1930’s and 1940’s experimented with this element to create the most deadly nerve gasses, rocket fuel, and radioactive U235 for the bomb. As a wood preservative, rodentcide and insecticide, fluorine compounds are second to none. As an Orthodontist, I began investigating the increasingly prevalent lines and spots that I saw on the enamel of children. Like rings on a tree, they indicate excessive fluorine exposure. I started to ask the question, “How does fluorine cause these marks?” Chronic doses of fluoride, like arsenic and lead, accumulate in our bodies causing a blockage in the way cells breathe and leads to the malformation of collagen. Cancer, diabetes, thyroid and neurological disorders, hormonal imbalances, heart disease, arthritis and osteoporosis have all been linked to chronic fluoride ingestion. We are now exposed to increasing doses of fluoride from toothpaste, rinses, water, food, medicines, showering, bathing, and even the air that we breathe. Our environment has become a literal fluoride dumping ground. This book explores many chronic diseases that plague man today and looks at the scientists that connected these diseases to chronic exposures of fluoride.

As students in graduate programs, we are aware of the overwhelming amounts of information we are expected to know and retain, not only for the national exam but also for the rest of our professional lives. While a student myself, I was constantly looking for condensed and easy-to-use reference material to help summarize these massive amounts of information. While studying for practical exams in orthopedic physical therapy at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, I condensed all my material (including my class and textbook notes) into a reference manual. This manual, in its early stages, was an invaluable tool for my classes, studying for my practical exams, and preparing for the national board exam. I continue to use the manual as a clinical reference and have shared it with student physical therapists and PTAs at our office. I firmly believe that this manual was the foundation for furthering my outpatient orthopedic physical therapy career. Now I am sharing this manual to help you and other physical therapists increase your knowledge base and skills to enhance your work with your patients and support your future in the physical therapy profession. This book has received endorsements by members of the profession and those of the healthcare industry. (You can see some of these on the back cover of the book.)It is one of the most comprehensive yet inexpensive orthopedic evaluation tools on the market. I hope you will find it to be an invaluable addition to your professional library. Physical Therapy Musculoskeletal Examination: The Clinician's Reference Manual is designed for: physical therapy students, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, physical therapist assistant students, occupational therapists, occupational therapy students, athletic training students, and athletic trainers. Whether you are trying to absorb massive amounts of orthopedic physical therapy information in school, studying for the boards, or already practicing, the outline formatted manual should help you better organize your clinical evaluation skills for all the major joints:
