He doesn't believe in Bigfoot, but what else could it be? Enlisting the help of a tabloid journalist and two Sasquatch experts, Jason searches for the truth in the forest against his father's wishes.

Simultaneously, Matthew Walker zig-zags his way across the country after quitting his nine-to-five job in St. Petersburg, Florida. He believes there has to be more to life than working in a cubicle and following orders. Not knowing where he's going or what he's going to do, he finds himself in southwest Washington. Turning off the main road to look for a restaurant, he meets an old friend of the family in the forest, who in turn introduces him to the world of his dreams.

During his time in the woods, Matt becomes the apprentice of a reclusive, ex-presidential speechwriter, and discovers who he is and the difference one man can make in the world.

Along the way, Matt's story intertwines with Jason's, and the two men learn about life through a colorful cast of characters, including a famous artist pretending to be dead, a supermodel, a mysterious stranger believed to be DB Cooper, and a group of fun-loving hikers who get together once a year to reminisce about the good old days.

At the dinner table he watched her; perfectly erect, the posture an example to her class, a stern schoolmarm. He took a perverse delight in the knowledge she knew he was looking at her. Nervous, fluttery, dropping her fork, napkin. Did she dream wild fantasies of ravenous seamen clawing apart frothy feminine under-apparel in search of the closest portal to appease their gross sexual appetites? He was crazy. He tried smiling at her but she only shrivelled up, trembled.

Marty Leigh, his young heart beating wildly, his blood racing, his suitcase held together by a leather strap, climbed his first gangway. He would walk down his last bitter, disillusioned. The sea would change him irrevocably, keep him within its folds all his working life. It would call him many names but take away the one he loved best of all, seaman.

For many people in this Planet, World Government under the United Nations is a long-standing dream. But will it ever become reality? There are now indications that a number of people and institutions around the globe, indeed, believe that it will. A few examples to illustrate this:

Kofi Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations’ recent pronouncement – "fifty billion dollars"… ( from developed nations) would be a start in lifting the poorer nations of the world from their impoverishment. [The start if redistribution of world wealth through the United Nations]

Next, a Green Party manifesto in part . . . " humans have a unique responsibility for the stewardship of the Earth. No species, especially on the upper end o the food chain can have unchecked, exponential growth without depleting the Earth’s carrying capacity."

[Planned World Population Control] . . . "consumption – oriented lifestyles that have evolved in the industrial world have resulted in a minority of people consuming a majority of resources." [A call for world resource sharing in a more egalitarian world society]

The author excepts the premise that World Government becoming reality for the purposes of this novel [poetic license, you know]. But its primary emphasis herein focuses on World Government’s effects on the lives of people as the action ebbs and flows around the globe. Rich characters enliven the plot with nations and political systems in conflict making this a thrilling journey, one filled with suspense and many surprises for the readers enjoyment.

The main character in the story is Gerry Jones. He is a labor consultant who has been hired by the union as its negotiator. There is a crowd in the opening scene, a picket line. It is made up of about 50 people. About 12 are union members who are supposed to be there. It is their picketing shift and they have been required to report to this unusual place, a warehouse that doesn't belong to the company, at this late hour, about midnight. About 12 more are union members who are there to help out. The balance are non-members, who may include members of other unions, some of whom may be troublemakers. The others will be non-members who may also include troublemakers.

Gerry would not normally be there but he has come to see what is happening. He was standing back out of sight of the picket line. He decided to step out and take a closer look. Then the pickets could see him and the first 12, at least assumed he was in charge.

The picket line is there to stop a truck. It is a loud and noisy crowd. They are undisciplined. They are shouting and screaming things like "Fucking Strike breakers" "Stop that truck" "Get out of that truck" and maybe a few more shouts or screams. When the pickets saw Gerry, at about the same time some one saw the body, the crowd parted so Gerry could see. It is the mediator who should not have been there.

This starts as a murder mystery. That's not yet clear. Part of the mystery is the shot. Did it happen during the noisy picketing? Did anyone hear the shot? Is this the crime scene or is it some where else? The first police unit to show up doesn't care.

They have come for a different reason. They have been told the truck will hold drugs in the load of refrigerators. In fact there is 200 kilos of heroin hidden there.

The second police unit is the murder squad. They investigate that crime which they later discover happened some where else.

Gerry thinks about these facts and he decides the time is ripe to settle the strike. This was the company's last chance to try and break the strike. It has gone on for a few weeks without the union making a move. Now the company not only has a union that is holding all the cards, the company may now look like a drug smuggler

So the first action in the story is settling the strike. The union then hires Gerry as an investigator. He is not a member of the union or an employee. He is a consultant who was hired as a negotiator. Now he is hired in a new guise.

As the story unfolds he begins to cooperate with the police. The story also develops into a love story, but not without some complications. Gerry travels to Europe. He cooperates with the French police. He finds out where the drugs are coming from. He finds out where the money is in Zurich and Geneva. He comes back to Toronto and reports. He travels to Vancouver and participates in a drug bust.

Along the way the murder is looked at from time to time. In the end the detective who has been investigating the murder assembles the characters in the dead mediators mansion. He conducts a meeting like Hercule Poire. At the end of the meeting, detective Smith solves the murder and it is no longer a mystery.
